Just heard Zoe Keating on the always excellent Radio Lab.
It's like a one man band, but with a cello and a computer. She plays a couple nice tunes in this piece.
Of course, radiolab isn't usually about funky cellists. It's usually about blowing you mind.

Awesome! Do you know about Apocalyptica? Check out this video. They're a Finnish heavy metal cello band... I went to a gig of theirs once in London with some really good cellists who say their playing is beyond reproach.
Also I was fairly amused by the whole notion of "Quantum Cello". It sounds like someone needed some NSF funding for an interdisciplinary foray into acoustics...
